Painting Contest Series for Organization Agents of Anima Tactics. Cipher Studios and Anima Studio will be releasing an Agent model of each of the different Anima Tactics Organizations. Each Agent will have two different head and weapon options with each body thus giving a possibility of customizing your Organization Agent! We are holding a 5 part series painting contest for the official Pain Master of each Agent that is released. The winner of each part of this series will receive 100 dollars in credit toward Anima Tactics merchandise as well as a Master cast of the very figure that won him/her the contest. The figure that rises to the top will have a permanent place in the Cipher Studios display with the rest of the professionally painted models. So yes, this does mean that you must send us the winning model to claim your prizes. The winner's name will appear with the model when put on display at shows, as well as given credit with our other painters when presented in publications by Cipher Studios. Each Agent has 4 possible combinations to choose from. Only the best painted model will be chosen but participants may submit one of each of the different combinations. This means that a contestant can have a total of 4 separate entries per contest. The contest series will proceed as follows: 1st - Azure Agent 2nd - Wissenschaft Agent 3rd - Samael Agent 4th - Church Agent 5th - Empire Agent (Order contest subject to change in case of change in release schedule.) Azure Agent has already been released so the 1st contest has begun! Photo entries will be accepted no later than August 2nd 2009 and be announced soon after at www.Cipher-Studios.com! Please send the pictures, front and back of fig, to PaintingContest@Cipher-Studios.com. Deadlines for subsequent Agents will be announced as released. Thank you all and good luck!!Cipher Kai here adding some images:

Does that Wissen agent have a pistol? Sweet. You should put the artwork for the agents on display at events. Its a very cool representation of each of the organizations.

Erm, I think that deadline is quiiite tough. Specially given that here in Spain we're not going to see the Azur agent in at least a couple of weeks. It isn't even listed in Edge's upcoming products list. Thus we play in a dire disadvantage, don't we?
I could have considered entering, but with such little time...

Well, as far as mini painting goes, most 1st place winners rarely take more than a month to paint unless the model is unnecessarily large. I say this having talked with some of my region's best painters, including Ryder Gaddis who does some of the official A:T paint jobs (The studio Goethia paint won best in show at a local convention). You'll have, even in Spain, about a month to complete the figure which should be plenty of time given the relative size and simplicity of the figure.

The same problem here in Belgium ! The distribitor doesn't follow the official CS release dates here. But I can understand that if you do something special for the community it isn't easy because you are depending from a lot of externe things. Great initiative !

Whilst the delay of figure release is not as bad in the UK I still managed to pick up an Azur Agent figure in the States over two weeks before anyone in the UK had them.

Good initiative. After the exams i plan to finish painting my Empire force and add a mini or two to them. Possibly an agent or two even. I like the possibility of customization, allowing me to field 2 rather different minis.

I'd say, this is mighty difficult for any of us, here on Ye Olde Continentus, called Europe, to participate, especially us mighty Poles. Aye, mighty difficult. Whamericanians scare easily of us, Mighty Europeanians! But tremble in fear, unholy spawns of the corn land! Whe shall participate, and we shall not fall by the hand of the god of Logistics!
ermm... sorry for that, hard day at work. I mean.. I would love to take part in the contests, even though my painting skillz are far from evil ninja, and I think I could get some talented painters aboard, but package to the US...

Great idea! I think I'll have to pass this one though, I'll never have the miniature in time before I go on holiday in July. So, good luck to everybody who can make it! BTW, is there a picture of the actual (unpainted) model somewhere? Maybe I didn't search enough

I understand the concerns for timing. I'll talk to the European distributors to see where the issues are on the releases. Our primary reason for the date is to have the figure in for GenCon so we can display the winning figure in the display. We'll coordinate the next releases with the painting contest so we can make sure to give enough time for the international community. Wissenchaft will be the next agent which will be shipping in the next week or two so she should be available everywhere by our next contest.

Hmmm i like his look though the sword is a bit overly large. Given his attire and pose i'd expect a more elegant weapon such as a rapier from him.

Yeah, Lilian Virgil and the Agent share the same problem of over sized swords, I'll probably use the Punching-dagger thing rather then that for the helmeted Agent, and give the giant-sword to the helmet-less one.
Anime-swords are almost always large, but it really doesn't fit some of the characters they slap them on in Anima.
